Joining a circle

Someone sent me a link and I don't want to install an app

You don't have to. Open the join page in your browser, type the six-character code from the message, and put in your first name. You'll be able to see what needs doing and pick things up from there.

My invite code isn't working

Codes are six characters and never contain the letters A, E, I, O, U, L, or the digits 0 and 1 — so a character that looks like a zero is the letter O's absence, not a zero. Check for a typo, and if it still doesn't work ask whoever invited you to read it out again from their Circle tab.

Do I need a password?

No. Kinley identifies you by the device you joined on. If you switch phones or clear your browser, use your invite code again and type the same first name.

Tasks

Two of us tapped "I'll do it" at the same time

Only one of you gets it, and the other is told who was first. This is deliberate — it's the situation that causes duplicated effort in group texts.

I deleted something by accident

Deleting is immediate and can't currently be undone. Email us with the circle's invite code and roughly when it happened, and we'll see what can be recovered.

Medications

Mom takes something three times a day

Add one medication and give it as many times as you need. Each dose can be marked taken, skipped, or moved on its own.

I moved tonight's dose — did I break the schedule?

No. Moving or skipping a dose applies only to that dose. Tomorrow returns to the usual times.

Why can't I add a medication?

Only coordinators can change what medications exist and when they're due. Helpers can still record doses as taken, skipped, or moved. Ask a coordinator to make the change, or to make you a coordinator too.

Reminders

I'm not getting reminded about doses

Check the Circle tab — "Remind me about doses" is a per-phone setting, so turning it on for you doesn't affect anyone else. If it's on and you still hear nothing, check Settings › Notifications › Kinley on your phone.

Will I be reminded about tasks other people took?

No. You're only reminded about tasks you took on yourself.

Plans and billing

Am I going to be charged?

Not unless you choose a paid plan. One circle with up to six people is free, with every feature, and nothing switches off.

How do I cancel?

Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Kinley can't cancel it for you — Apple handles the billing.

What happens if my plan lapses while my circle is bigger than the free limit?

Nothing is deleted and nobody is removed. You just can't add another person until you're back within the limit.
